Dr. Muneo Yoshikawa Keynote Speaker at SIETAR Forum 2012+38

Prof. Dr. Muneo Yoshikawa, Board of Governors for the Intercultural Open University Foundation (IOUF), will be a keynote speaker at the SIETAR Forum 2012+38 in Berlin, Germany, September 27-29, 2012. The SIETAR Forum 2012+38 is shifting forward by moving into cosmopolitan communication which requires the development of a new level of awareness of global integral competence which incorporates a more complete human and societal dimension of experience by investigating channels of understanding humankind and society.  Dr. Yoshikawa will speak on “The Mobius Theory and Cosmopolitan Communication.” 

Dr. Muneo Yoshikawa was born in Tokyo and went to study in the United States at the age of 18, graduating from Linfield College in Oregon.  He then received his graduate degree and subsequently a PhD from the University of Hawaii.  Dr. Yoshikawa retired from the University of Hawaii after 35 years of teaching.  He is currently residing in Japan.

Dr. Yoshikawa studied the Communication Theory, the New Paradigm Theory, and the Life Information Science Theory.  He developed communication theories in the education, health, and business fields, best known among them being the Double-swing Model of Intercultural Communication.

Dr. Yashikawa holds the rank of Professor Emeritus at the University of Hawaii.  He is a member of the Board of Governors of Intercultural Open University Foundation (IOUF).  He was originally involved as a mentor and international advisor to this Foundation since its inception in 1981.  Dr. Yashikawa is Co-Director of Mobius Graduate School in Tokyo, Counselor of the International Advisory Counsel of the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (Malaysia), and associate of Ken Blanchard Companies (San Diego, California).  He is also involved in the corporate education field, with a focus on multinational multicultural companies.
